At the Macworld Convention in January 2007, Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs (now deceased) announced the iPhone. It was a game-changer in mobile phone technology. It brought with it a revolution in mobile phone culture. The freedom of viewing media, surfing the web, and ease of navigation all with the touch, swipe, pinch, tap, and sweep of your fingers was what iPhone users enjoy most about this revolutionary product.

7 generations of iPhones have been released so far. Each and every one was released one year after the previous version.

The original iPhone, released in 2007 and came in 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB models.

The iPhone 3G. This improved version of the iPhone came with Apple’s App Store, third-party application, a new iOS, but most importantly, 3G data connection.

The iPhone 3GS. With faster hardware and an improved camera.

The iPhone 4. New design, faster hardware, better camera, retina display, and an additional front-facing camera.

The iPhone 4S. With improved hardware and camera. The 4S was also the first version to have the Siri software, a voice-activated assistance program.

The iPhone 5. This new model came with a new processor chip and was thinner and lighter than previous iPhones. It also boasted LTE/4G data connection.

In 2013, Apple Inc. released 2 new iPhones, the 5S and the 5C (L-R), with updated software and improved hardware.
